LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
There are many places to visit and things to see within driving distance of the resort.
Short Trips.
The township of Kyneton will be your first destination, no doubt, and there you will see many fine bluestone buildings that provide lasting evidence of the wealth that the discovery of gold brought to this region. The Kyneton Museum in Piper Street displays many interesting items associated with the gold era and with later times in the district.
Other nearby places of interest include the village of Malmsbury with its extraordinary railway bridge standing beyond the beautiful Botanical Gardens.
Black Hill Nature Reserve with its great granitic tors rearing skywards is only a few kilometres from the resort and you can continue on from there to Turpins Falls.
Another pleasant outing is to drive to Woodend, continue on to Macedon and then drive up to the village of Mount Macedon with its magnificent homes and gardens. Continue on up to the summit of the mountain to see the famous memorial cross and then drive back to the resort via the spectacular Hanging Rock. A map for this easy half day outing is available at reception.
